Yes, I’m Getting Birthday T-Shirts—And No, It’s Not Weird!

So, I made a decision for my birthday this year—and no, it’s not a trip to Paris or a yacht party (although I wouldn’t turn either down). I decided to get custom birthday T-shirts made. Why? Because June 2nd is my day, and I want a little extra flair. The idea hit me after binge-watching every reality challenge show under the sun. They’re always rocking matching shirts for birthdays, eliminations, or just because it’s Thursday. I thought—why not bring that same energy to my own celebration?

But, as always, when you try to do something different, folks have something to say.

My sister and brother looked at me like I’d just announced we were all getting matching tattoos. “T-shirts? For your birthday?” they asked with raised eyebrows. Yes, T-shirts. Because it’s giving unity. It’s giving celebration. It’s giving “we outside—but coordinated.”

The plan is simple but cute. We're heading to a casino for a couple of nights, planning a fun dinner, and maybe some late-night food runs if the vibes are right. I wanted it to feel like a birthday festa, a whole event. And don’t get me started on how much fun we could have if everyone cooperates. You know how it is—sometimes folks show up with a side of attitude like they’re going through a menstrual strike. I just want good energy, laughter, and no one throwing shade unless it’s from the sun umbrella at brunch.

This birthday is about joy, lightness, and maybe a little slot machine luck. I hope we can all enjoy ourselves without the drama. Life is short—especially when you’re not winning at the roulette table.
